Кацухиро Харада (Katsuhiro Harada), ветеран индустрии и руководитель серии Tekken, сообщил о своём скором уходе из Bandai Namco. Над файтингом Харада трудился с самых истоков франшизы, посвятив ей больше тридцати лет.
Компанию руководитель покинет уже в декабре — в этом месяце стукнет 31 год с момента релиза оригинальной Tekken на аркадных автоматах в Японии. До PlayStation игра впервые добралась в 1995-м. Харада посчитал, что сейчас, когда серия празднует юбилей, — самое лучшее время, чтобы оставить свой пост и «закрыть эту главу».
Почему же Харада решил уйти из Bandai Namco? Напомним, Харада трудился над серией Tekken с самого её зарождения. Ближе к концу его первого года в Bandai Namco специалисту поручили работу по регулированию баланса в игре и настройке таймингов и данных о кадрах. Кроме того, он озвучил нескольких персонажей в четырёх первых Tekken. Например, его голосом кряхтит ниндзя Ёсимицу. К моменту, когда пришла пора делать Tekken 3, Харада занял место директора франшизы и с тех пор руководит ею.
Продюсер уточнил, что в течение последних четырёх-пяти лет он постепенно передавал свои обязанности разработчикам из команды Tekken. Те, в свою очередь, сообщили, что поддержка восьмой части серии продолжится. «Мы будем следить за отзывами сообщества об игре и её наполнении, чтобы дух серии оставался таким, каким его задумал Харада-сан», — гласит послание от девелоперов.
